Turns out water damaged phones can resurrect themselves a couple of days after they get soggy. In my case, bloody lucky, YAY! |

Two thoughts:
1. It's hot today, i.e. I should have worn shorts.
2. In terms of cleaning one's room, a bed is like a big squishy desk. (I thought of this in the shower)

| | blank | ] | The last sailing season is well and truly finished. We won the first half season, second half season and therefore the season pointscore, which is pretty cool since we haven't won all of them before. We always just miss out on the big pretty trophy. Anyway it was good and the next season starts at the beginning of september.
Entirely separtate but the point is this: Ask me a question about each of the following topics, no matter how rude, sexual, or confidential:
1. Friends 2. Sex 3. Music 4. Drugs 5. Love 6. LiveJournal
Then post this meme in your journal and see what questions you get asked! |

| | cheerful | ] | GUESS WHAT? I went sailing on the weekend. First sail of the season. It started off as a rather disappointing race, with the whole capsizing on the start line and them getting a photo of it and all BUT we caught up. Anyone who isn't a sailor can still probably accept that on days with very little wind the only way to catch up is a)to do something particularly right b)for someone else to do something particularly wrong or c)to get wind that no one else is getting. We caught up. Probably due to good luck as well as good management but just the same it's nice to know that even with a handicap you can still be competitive. Also I went snorkelling on Monday, the first swim of the season. It wasn't as cold as I thought it would be AND I saw a pretty green fish with blue stripes. I love my water sports. |

The time has come, the dawn is here, the beginning of a brand new er....a, yes era. I am not in Switzerland! That was over 6 months ago and following this Jess and I continued on to Strasbourg, Reims, Singapore and home to the land of Oz. I started Uni doing Bachelor of Biomedical Science and that has consumed my life thus far. Gosh, that's most of this year put into 2 sentences peoples. Anyways, I found out the other day that my brother that lives in America is coming to the land down under at the end of the year and has dates AND TICKETS! Considering he now has two children, one of which I met on my trip but no one else in my family has met either of them. So as you can imagine it's fairly exciting for all involved! |

I don't like the idea of machines eating my money. Anyway... I caught the subway. hehehe not that exciting eh? but at least I can say I've done it.shite gotta go |

| | Missy Higgins | ] | Whoa! It's been a while since I've been here. Hmmmm... Since then I don't think there's been a single day when my dad and I haven't raised our voices at each other. Not so cool.
Bio paper was today. 6 tests down... 2 to go. I have the tendency to procrastinate until the day before a test when about halfway through studying I realise how much time this is taking and how much stuff I don't know and how I should have started studying before the HSC began when I thought I had plenty of time. Next test ext 1 eng. Globalisation is a social, economic and philosophical paradigm of the 20th century. YAY!!!
On another front, I need shoes, waterproof shoes which are comfy, good for walking in and snow resistant. I've never seen snow and I'm about to spend 2 months in a northern hemisphere winter WITHOUT SHOES! My mum is pushing the whole Ugh boot thing but I've never been a huge fan of the outside-wearing-ugh-boot thing. It's like someone forgot to take their slippers off when they went to collect the paper in the morning but then couldn't return inside the house OH NO because that would make the carpet dirty. So they end up with inside slippers which can't be worn inside anymore but have not yet been worn to their full capacity so they decide to wear their inside slippers (which aren't up to the task) outside. This seems perfectly normal to them but thoroughly strange to everyone else except for the next unwitting morning newspaper collectorer. Thus the occurance of this oddity increases but it's still strange for those people who don't collect the paper. ie. ME!!! If anyone has any shoe suggestions other than Ugh boots PLEASE let me know. I didn't sail last week so that I could study (which didn't happen) and I'm not sailing tomorrow for study (which should happen) but I miss it terribly. There's no other feeling like when you're on a boat, with a nice breeze and the boat feels right and you can sit there or stick your bum over the side and think this is just MAGIC. We sail every week for 8 months of the year through terrible winds just for that one perfect day which re-energises and makes the waiting for those days worthwhile. Just the same I miss the woeful days along with the blissfull ones when I'm not sailing... anything to be sailing again. The off season gives a much needed break but when September comes again I want to be back on the boat. That's where I feel at home in a different way. I miss my sailing.
The slumbering night approaches and I once again must say adieu... |

I only just found out about this and I want to be in on the fun too so please answer the questions.
Who are you?
Are we friends?
If we've met, when and how did we meet?
What social event or place would you like to go to with me?
Describe me in one word.
What was your first impression?
Do you still think that way about me now?
What reminds you of me?
If you could give me anything what would it be?
How well do you know me?
When's the last time you saw me?
Ever wanted to tell me something but couldn't?
Are you going to put this on your LiveJournal and see what I say about you? |

| | school background murmurs | ] | After much procrastinating and poor time management the tickets are booked. We leave Oz on the 16th November with packs in tow. Yay!!! Four major cities here I come!!! Having saved literally for years with the idea of travel in mind I finally make the trip of a life time. Setting out and finally leaving parents and all behind is exciting though somehow slightly frightening at the idea of all that could happen ... then also all that could go wrong. Sometimes the best trips are when you get lost finding very specialised places where locals love but no one else knows about... With tickets out of the way one can focus slightly more on the tests ahead without the extra worries of planning overseas trips... In general thouroughly excited... |

[Oct. 13th, 2005|10:09 pm] |
It's getting late and I'm tired and stressed and trying not to get sick. Went to Jon's b'day party last night ... it was good but odd. Recently I seem to be spending a lot of time with people who are my friends but not exactly in my group. They are all wonderful people but sometimes you just want what's comfortable, just a single moment of relatively normal existence. The pizza at Arrividerci's is awesome. A slightly troublesome aspect of my life currently is that my capacity for english seems.. exacerbated =) Hehehe... No really... A subject once thouroughly enjoyed has destroyed my ability to communicate in a 'sophistocated' manner. Analysis has always been my own version but a "new and improved" model was imposed upon me while my short stories have been completely dessimated. Thoroughly distressing considering... I WAS GOOD AT IT. As much as I try to study there is always some distraction...Generally from parents who are supposed to be encouraging study. All I want is to be left alone despite all good intentions. Thanks anyway... |

| | sleepy | ] | Although i created this wonderful, wonderful thingumebob a couple of days ago, I finally decided to make it seem as if I knew what I was doing (is it working? is it working?)...I actually don't. It's so strange; people tell you to do so much stuff then when it actually comes to it, no matter how important it really is, if you don't care about it then you'll do such a half arsed job that you may as well have ignored it in the first place....but hey, at least the person who told you to do it in the first place is happy and thinks you listen to them...
Yes Elise, that was a very long sentence. I like long sentences.
Quite apart from anything, this is a new beginning in so many ways. School's finished in theory - now all the wonderfully interesting stuff we learnt gets re-learnt and tested. The sailing season has once again commenced which brings me indescribable joy - ever so slightly marred by the impending HSC exams. I haven't seen some of my friends since school broke up and although that was only two weeks ago it seems like...a long time. Strangely I miss many of them more than i expected and I don't know if this is due to the fact that school is almost done or my being cooped up with vague attempts to study.
As sleep draws me into her comforting grasp I say adieu... |
